Travelling to your holiday in the south of France
There are several ways to travel to our house...
Flights
The nearest airport to our house is Beziers.
When we fly we tend to go from Bristol to Beziers with Ryan air, usually about £70.00 per head return depending on the time of year, but there are several flights into Beziers airport from different airports around the UK.
From Beziers airport it's only about 35 minutes to the house. We can collect you by arrangement, or there is a regular shuttle bus via Beziers centre.
Other airports you can fly into include Montpellier, about an hour away, plus Perpignan and Carcasonne which are a bit further away.
We have also flown to Girona (Barcelona) in Spain and then taken the train to Beziers or hired a car and driven up to the house.
Drive
Driving from the UK there are lots of Ferries to choose from. We tend to do the overnight from Portsmouth to Le Havre but depending on where you are in the UK you can head for Dover or other ferry ports. Or of course there is also the tunnel.
We arrive in Le Havre at around 8.00 AM then it's a 10 hour drive to the house, 12 if you have more stops, so we arrive early or mid evening. From Calais it is a longer drive through France, roughly an additional 2 hours.
Or if you want to take things a little more leisurely, you can travel down through France over 2 days and have an overnight stop. A more relaxing way of getting to the house and you can enjoy a little more of France on route.
Train
You can take Eurostar from London to Paris and then the TGV from Paris to Beziers. Beziers is the nearest station to the house.
We can collect you from Beziers station by arrangement, or there is a regular bus to the village of Laurens.
